It's spring and that means that the kids are ready to get out and enjoy some sunshine and sports. Carson started playing flag football. This is his first time playing any sport.

So fun! This is going to be a great season! I already know that he is a better offense player than a defense player. We shall see how he turns out after the season.. which position he plays best!

He's also brushing up on his lawn mowing skills... what a STUD!

Camping

Memorial weekend camping is one of our traditions. We packed up and left for Palisades.

Just hanging out

2 little monkeys climbing in the trees.. no wait, it's just Makayla and Brayden!

Strider and Sadie playing tug-o-war with the stick! Dogs gotta play too.

This is the "roller coaster" that the kids were all begging to go play on. It's made of great big mounds of gravel and it's pretty fun to ride on.

I've said it before and I will say it again.. John is a jack of all trades.. "Mr. fix it everything!"

He says, "just call me Paul Bunyon!"

Or should we call him "Johnny Crocker!"

Or maybe we should call him "the Wreckmaster who can tow anything?!"

See what I mean?? He can do it all! He's amazing!

It rains every year over Memorial weekend and this year was no different. Riding turned out to be a big mud fest!

Siarah is trying to get our fire going.. it was freezing!

Cameron was crazy enough to lay on the ground and let Carson jump over the top of him with his motorcycle... the picture snapped too late so we didn't capture him above him but Cameron layed too close to the edge and Carsons back tire skiffed him! Otherwise, he flew over the top of him and nobody got hurt! Crazy fools!

Palisades is a beautiful area to go camping!

The kids and John had a great time this year! I, unfortunately, didn't get to play with them after the first day. I woke up the 2nd day with a high fever, headache, and sore throat so I spent the day in bed in 3 sweatshirts and under 4 blankets! I was freezing! I finally drove into Ammon, I.F. to the doctor... I had really bad strep throat. Which meant, fever, chills, headache, stomach ache, and no eating all weekend! Miserable! Next camping trip I will play with my munchkins!

Spring Fever

Every year about this time, I get spring fever! The wheels in my head are turning and I have all these projects I want to do. I don't know if I would have started with this project but we did. My mom had several patio pavers in her garage and since we have always wanted a place for our patio table and chairs, we decided to use them to get started.

We have a section between our back door steps and our house, about 10x12 feet. So not huge, but big enough. We loaded up her pavers and then wandered over to lowes. We bought several more and came home. John rototilled up the dirt and layed the brick as even as he thought. Well, when he was done after we spent all day on it, it didn't turn out so even. And the next day, the bricks had buckled and one area had sunk! How depressing!
John's buddy stopped by and asked us if we layed sand under it... nope.. didn't know we were suppose to. So we had to start all over! This time, with a leveler too!

Day 2

Jared showed John how to lay the brick in the sand so it stayed together and level. Carson was there helping hammer down the bricks.

Day 3

It's finished! YAY! John did a great job laying it all and keeping it level!

We still have to lay sod down the side and flowers to finish it off, but the laying of the brick is all sealed and finished! Who knew there was a thing called polmeric sand that hardens up like cement when you get it wet to hold the bricks together?! Pretty cool stuff.

We added our new bbq grill that John got for fathers day and a pop up gazebo until we can build one overhead and we are grilling tonight!
